Hong Kong Day 2 - Macau ( The Venetian, Galaxy Hotel, Ruins of St Paul's, Senado Square ) and Ladies Market

For starters, i think i should forget my thoughts of being a blogger hahaha writing is very time-consuming, well, it's not like i'm busy or something but it took me around 2 hours only for one entry, can you imagine?!? But hey, i should keep my brain alive, right? I can feel that it is getting rusty hahaha okay let's be productive!

So, on the second day we went to Macau! From Chungking Mansion we walked to China Ferry Terminal (?) I'm not so sure which one because there are two terminals and we got lost on our way there haha but i'm pretty sure that it is one that is located near the Austen Street and Harbour City. We used TurboJet that cost usHKD316 which is around IDR 500,000 something for round trips. We were supposed to depart at 10.30 AM but it got delayed due to the bad weather until around 12 PM and sadly we've bought the ticket for going back at 5 PM. So we only got around 4 hours to explore *sigh*

Around 1 PM, we arrived at Macau Ferry Terminal. Just outside the terminal you can find lots of shuttle buses going to several destinations offered by different hotels. We took the one that is going to The Venetian. Macau is very well-structured, neat, and green! I can't find the proper words to describe the city hahaha. All i can say is i'm loving it!

From The Venetian, we walked through City of Dreams that is just across the road, to catch the bus to Galaxy Hotel. People in Macau are very helpful, I mean they understand English better than Hongkongers certainly since it is one of the most popular tourist destinations around the world so people there are very hospitable. One interesting fact about Macau is that you can find a Casino everywhere you go lol

Galaxy Hotel is very luxurious and huge! It's a five star hotel, duh! They also got shops inside, even a foodcourt. It's super huge i think i can get lost inside the hotel hahaha. My lecturer's friend works there, so we went to meet him but he was pretty occupied so i don't know what we were doing there like my lecturer just disappeared for about 30 minutes. I thought they were going to serve us or something but they didn't hahaha and then from Galaxy Hotel we took the free shuttle bus to Ruins of St Paul's.

At first i thought Ruins of St Paul's is like the must visit place in Macau but turned out it is not as 'jawdropping' as i thought. When you google it you will see beautiful sceneries and bla bla bla but here i show you how it really looks like!

Right?!?!! It was kind of disappointing because i honestly expect it to be more beautiful and green and like, i don't know, it just ruined my imaginations. BUT, like i told you before, you can find free pork jerky going all the way up here! WHATTTT!! Not only one or two but literally all along the way! Shameless me just being shameless, trying every testers that i could find hahaha they also got free cookie testers, drink testers, and stuffs. Now I understand why people always say heaven on earth. I've found mine in Macao *hearts*

And of course i tried the famous portuguese egg tarts and i'd say, meh. It's just like any other egg tarts, i don't know, i didn't find it very special and it's very expensive! I bought two for HKD20!! Why am i so stingy hahahaha but yeah, i'm not a food spender what can i say.

Senado Square

Senado Square was just as disappointing as the ruins. I don't want to complain too much but i'm honest so,... hahaha i just thought that it would have that old city vibes whatsoever but it doesn't. They say never have too much expectations, am i right? Okay, let's move on! It was about 4.30 PM and we were confused on how to get back to the ferry terminal while the ferry was about to depart in 30 mins! My friend said let's just go back to Galaxy Hotel and took the bus from there but Galaxy is actually in the opposite direction! So i said let's just go to Lisboa Hotel that is just around the corner, they should have the bus going to ferry terminal, but my friends like disagreed and still wanted to go to Galaxy Hotel. We were having serious arguments like in the middle of the streets hahaha. But then we decided to go to Lisboa Hotel because we really didn't have much time to go back and forth again and here comes another problem. The bus queue was super long! I'm not sure if it's the one that is going to the ferry terminal but when i asked the concierge he said that we should get like a ticket downstairs. We ended up taking taxi and it only took us around 10 mins for HKD30. Why didn't we do it sooner.

Afterwards we went to the not-so-recommended Ladies Market. They sell random stuffs there but mostly counterfeit stuffs! The quality sucks and they are not even that cheap! You just gotta haggle and haggle till one of you dies hahaha kidding. Don't even try to ask the buyer if you're not going to buy, just DON'T! They will chase you down the street, like literally! But if you want to buy souvenirs like keychains, t-shirts, and stuffs maybe this is the right place for you.

I thought that i would find street foods like meatballs there but i did not. Though i found the famous egg waffles, i think i  got it around HKD20. Again, i have to say meh. And when i walk around, i found another stall that sells egg waffles for only HKD 8 i think? ARGHHH i just wanna curse out loud *Ed Sheeran song was on* ooppss that is thinking out loud hehe so cheesy. Time to get some sleep! Cheerio!

Hong Kong Day 1 - Avenue of Stars, Chi Lin Nunnery and Nan Lian Garden, Victoria Peak

I know this post is probably due a hundred years ago but the internet connection here is on and off aka sucks so yeah.. anyways let's get started!

Actually, i was there for 6 days but the first and last day were only arrival and departure so there's not much to say. So, let's start with Avenue of Stars! It's only around 5 minutes walking distance from Chungking Mansion and to be honest there's not much to see there? hahaha i mean i bet you'll only know few of the 'stars' there but it's still a worthy place to visit. However, i found it relaxing to just walk or sit around just enjoying the nice breeze, especially at night. Oh, when i was there, they were having like a banana run or something so i had to step aside and wait for them to run back and forth

After a few strolls and waiting for my friends to take tons of pictures we finally headed to Chi Lin Nunnery and Nan Lian Garden. It's such a beautiful treasure located in the heart of the busy city! I was really astonished by how well the garden is maintained from the moment i walked through that giant entrance gate. When i was exploring around i got separated with my friends because i just couldn't stop at one spot for too long and i almost cried because I couldn't find them anywhere, it's a very huge space, and my cell was off. Just when i was about to get desperate, i found them! They were like where have you been, like they didn't care at all, so did my lecturer hahaha. To get there, stop at MTR Diamond Hill and take exit C2, follow the signs, and walk for around 5 minutes. Just before crossing the road, you can find a public toilet. Is this useful or not hahaha

I can't believe i didn't take the picture of the waterfall! It's so beautiful try google it or check my instagram feed hahaha. After that we went to Victoria Peak. Have i tell you not to go there? I'm not sure if it's because i went there on weekend but the Tram queue was crazy, both going up and down. I think it took us around an hour to wait each way? Not only that, it was really hot i couldn't breath and people starting to push each other. What's worse is that the tram only departs every 10-15 mins and there's nothing special about it but go ahead and try if you really want to. All i can say is, don't bother going there unless you plan to visit Madame Tussauds. Or perhaps go there on weekdays so it's less crowded. They actually sell some stuffs up there but you can also find them anywhere else in Hong Kong.

The Peak Galleria
The famous Bank of China
Just around the corner you can find Victoria Park that is famous to be the tempat-nongkrong-for-TKI hahaha but when i was about to ask for directions i couldn't differentiate which one is indonesian, malaysian or phillipinos because they all look the same to me lol. Later that night, i just walk around Nathan Rd and did some makeup/skincare shopping. I was pretty upset that i couldn't find any street foods like meat balls and stuffs because i think that's truly essential when visiting a new place. Is that even the right terms. Find out more on my next post! XOXO

HK-Macau General Tips

Well, as you might know i just got back from my HK-Macau trip (It's been almost a month actually lol) I'm not so sure if this post will help anyone but i just feel like telling how my trip was and some tips if any of you are planning to go there. So yeahh..

  • ACCOMMODATION
Everything in Hong Kong is freaking expensive for any sake's! I stayed at Germany Hostel in Chungking Mansion, to be exact. We booked a family room for four that cost us around IDR 800,000 a night. Well, i gotta say you get what you paid. The room is super small like the four of us couldn't move altogether at the same time haha and don't expect much from the bathroom, it's good enough if you don't hit anything when inside. But i would say it wasn't such a bad experience, i mean we got water heater, hair-dryer, mini fridge, and air conditioner (?) it's and old type of AC. We also bought our Disneyland and Madame Tussauds tickets there. We got the Disneyland tickets around HKD 430 when online they cost around HKD 499, quite a saving eh? As for Madame Tussauds i'm not so sure how much because I didn't buy it, only my friends. Everything was fine until check-out time, my flight was earlier so my friend was the one who checked us out and i told her that i already gave them HKD 40 for deposit so be sure to ask for it and you know what? The clerk said i didn't give any?!? I was so upset like why on earth did they do that for? I clearly gave it the night i arrived to the tall indian guy (there are lots of indian in Chungking Mansion) and i'm sure that i signed something but they just told my friend that they have clear all the logs like wtf?! Such a scammer
  • WEATHER
Super loving the weather there! I went  there around early March so it still got that nice cool breeze, not too cold and not too warm. However in the morning and evening it got a little foggy. Still i wish Indo's weather would ever be like that. My friends and I were super excited when we plan our trip, we just directly buy coats without knowing where we are going haha we actually planned to go to South Korea but its kinda out of our budget thus we chose HK at the end. Thank God we still got to wear our coats hahaha
  • GETTING AROUND
So Octopus Card is the 'it' card there, you can use it for MTR, bus, or even shop at 7-11. To get it i had to pay around HKD 150 upon my arrival at the airport. The HKD 50 is for deposit so you can get it back when you return the card. I'm pretty sure that i had written down all of my expenses but turned out i forgot to write how much i top up the card, classic me. But i believe it was around HKD 150? And i got around HKD 70 for refund so my total spending was HKD 230 getting around for 5 days that is equivalent to almost IDR 400,000! For the love of God, Trans Jakarta is the best hahaha
  • FOODS
Let me remind you again how expensive everything is in Hongkong. I'm not a food spender kind of person, i mean i hate to spend for foods so when i was there i share foods with my lecturer haha. You gotta spend at least HKD 40 which is around IDR 70,000 for a meal only not including drinks, that's at least i repeat. The portion is huge though so if you don't eat that much i suggest you to share. And i've tried the must-try like Tim Ho Wan, Australia Dairy Co, Hui Lau Shan, Portuguese Egg Tarts, Egg Waffles, etc. But to be honest, they tasted just okay. I will talk more about it on next post. In total i spent around HKD 200 for foods and mineral water, that's eating once a day, shared.
  • SHOPPING
There's not much to shop in Hong Kong unless you are looking for high end brands like Chanel, Valentino, Louis Vuitton, they got it all along the streets. If you look up on internet, people will recommend you to shop at Ladies Market. But my friend, don't bother to go there it's a waste of time. Instead, just around the corner you can find Argyle Centre, it's a hidden gem in Mongkok so make sure you google the signboard and directions to get there beforehand. Basically it's almost the same like Bugis Street in Singapore but a little more pricey, well gotta adjust to Hong Kong, no? And there was this little shop that sells korean products but i forgot the name oh nooo, i found it by accident because the store is on the second/third floor of a building so it's hidden. They carry several brands like Innisfree, History of Whoo, etc and they are mostly on sale!! I love this place! Lastly, the famous Citygate Outlet worths a visit, i scored a Nike Sky High Sneakers for only IDR 750,000!! Giordano is also cheap, and girl,On Pedder Outlet is a must go!! I found the classic Charlotte Olympia Pumps for only IDR 1,500,000 say whatttt?! Unfortunately, they didn't have my size hiks i hope you are lucky to score something there. Although I gotta say that Kate Spade, Coach, etc were not that cheap and i'm not interested in the collections so i didn't spend much time there.
  • MACAU
I make Macau in one point because I was only there for a few hours since the ferry got delayed due to the bad weather. Getting around in Macau is a little bit tricky but you can get around freely using the hotel busses. No need to exchange to MOP because they accept HKD there. Weather was almost likely with Hong Kong. People are a lot nicer here comparing to Hong Kong thou haha trust me Hong Kong people are just asdxcdsz. I will tell more in separate post so stay updated! XOXO

CosmoGirl! of The Year 2014 #CGOTY14

Well, the thing that i talked about in my previous post is my CGOTY's experience. The reason i post this is not because i want to brag or anything but when i was doing research  about this event i couldn't find much details. So i hope with this post, i can help the future CGOTY candidates. It's still months to go actually hahaha okay, where do i begin...

REGISTRATION
I knew this event from my senior back in high school who was working at CosmoGirl at that time. So actually i registered through her, i know this sounds unfair but I did submit all the requirements like personal informations, pictures, and stuffs hahaha so yeah, I didn't apply online. Oh, i also heard from other girls that they were 'discovered' at malls so there were different ways to apply. Around 2-3 weeks, I got an email saying that i got into the semifinals and all the things that I should wear and stuffs

SEMI-FINALS (TOP 20)
On the semifinals i was told to wear white top, jeans, high heels and minimum makeup. Please make sure that you don't put on too much makeup because they will really ask you to remove 'em! Basically, what you are going to do is shooting profile picture and then the interview sessions. Have i told you how much i hate interviews? hahaha but this time i kind of rehearsed my answers before because i was quite sure that it would be just like every other interviews and i was right. They will ask your motivation, strengths and weaknesses, and stuffs like that.

QUARANTINE DAYS (TOP 10)
Almost a month later, when i almost forgot about this thing, i got a phone call from the committee that i got into the top 10 yay!! He was asking if i was available on the quarantine days which was from 11-14 December and i said yes. Not long after that, they sent me the confirmation email along with rules &regulations, permission letter (for school and parents), and things to bring.

DAY 1
So on the first day, all of us gathered at Wisma Chita Kirana (CG's office but i heard they are moving soon). The other girls were accompanied by parents or friends but i came alone. Awkward me just being awkward  like, sitting alone confused how to start a conversation hahaha we were asked to change to our sponsored t-shirts from Borneo Island and then we were introduced to our chaperons (the one that will accompany and look after us) mine was the craziest and loudest one, ka Olin lol. Afterwards, we went for lunch at Goodkoop and had a small talks with ka Tewe who owns a clothing label, House of PH. After that, the one that is most awaited for, SHOPPING TIME!! hahaha and then we had catwalk class at OQ Modelling and ended our day with wonderful dinner from Sunny Side Up. These were my shopping hauls!!

Still got more on the next day ;p
DAY 2
The second day spent doing our official shots for February edition, i believe. Also video profile and another interviews with different judges and talent show. As for my talent show, i dance, again hahaha i performed SNSD's I Got a Boy. I'm not a fan but i've loved the choreo from the first time i watched the music video. I'm not so sure about my performance since i only got a week to learn literally from nothing hahaha. After that we had catwalk class again and later that night we had our dinner at Mangia with formers CGOTY. Just sharing how's life after CGOTY hahaha wtf?! Oh, i just remembered that we also had the makeover session earlier in the morning at Irwan Team. Nothing extreme but one of the girls did get a short haircut hahaha I feel you, Rachel (just in case you're reading this ;p)

Official Photoshoot wearing Geofanny Tambunan's Collection
Loving my sleek hair!

DAY 3
Last day of quarantine! We had our lunch and beauty class with NYX at Hummingbird. And guess what, we got free goodie bag from NYX!! woop woop. Not only that, we also got extra voucher to shop at the counter but i didn't use it. And then we had another shopping spree at Avenue and another catwalk class with OQ Modelling.
The girlsss

CROWNING DAY
So today was the day! We got our hair and makeup done and headed to the venue, Hard Rock Cafe. On the crowning day we didn't have to do anything else aside from catwalk and enjoying the performances (Well, we were at the backstage so we couldn't watch the performance anyway lol).
Can easily spot me from my hair haha
After the show, I was crowned as the second runner-up
POST-CGOTY
Some of you might wonder after crowning day then what? Is it over? The answer would be no, I constantly got called for photoshoots and invited to events but sadly i haven't got the chance to attended one. However, i've done several photoshoots like, probably once a month. And the best thing about it (other than appearing on magazine) is that there's no pressure in every photoshoots. I mean i believe that they understand that we are not a model-model so we are not 'expected' to look like one. We can just be ourselves in every photoshoots hehe and yes, we got paid. XOXO

Long Overdue

Hello, again! It's been forever since my last post lol sorryyy. It's 2015 now but i went through my camroll and i think i owe myself a post of my life in 2014. So here we go!

Don't wait for it, Earn it !

People have been asking me how do I keep my body thin, what do I eat, and stuffs. Most of them are those who sit, do nothing, eat everything yet complaining about their body and hoping they will be skinny just in time. I was like, dude? If you wanna have something don't wait for it to come to you, earn it! Well, I'm not like a super skinny and healthy person either but at least I'm trying to live a healthy and balance life. So now I'm gonna share some tips and the things that I do to keep my body fit.

1. Drink water !
I think it's not necessary for me to explain how important water is for our body because you can read it in every health blogs so as for me I always bring my own bottle everywhere, literally. That's how bad my body craves for water. Aside from keeping body my hydrated, it also prevents my mouth smelling bad hahaha good one here! So make sure that you always bring mineral water with you, okayyy.

2. Avoid sodas, fried foods, junk foods, etc.
Not only that they make you fat, they can also cause acnes, cancer, and all other bad things. Yes, sometimes I eat them and I'm not avoiding them because I'm scared of the fat but I just feel unhealthy if you know what I mean? As for the snacks, I usually have yogurt and  fruits instead of pringles or pisang goreng hahaha I love them okayy?!

3. Exercise!!
Actually, I don't exercise a lot hahaha I just do some small exercises daily like crunches, squats, and walking. Remember, small things count! But still I try my best to work out at least twice a week by following videos on youtube haha

4. Eat clean
Still, not a clean eater here haha It's just so hard for me because the needs of preparing those complicated meals. The thing that I can do is replacing my ingredients to the healthier one, like olive oil, low fat milk, etc. And hey, I cook at home! Cooking at home is sure healthier because you know what are the ingredients that you are using, how do you prepare them, and how clean your kitchen is. I really recommend you to cook by yourselves because it is addictive and it's not as hard a s I thought it would be hehe

5. Have enough sleep
Not over, but just enough. If I can't make 8 hours of sleep at night I will take a nap for like 2 or 3 hours during the day. I know it depends on the person because I don't have that much activities haha but have enough rest. Don't stay up all night watching movies then sleep all day. Have a balance life! It will be a continues behavior and wouldn't be easy to change that.

"Suck it up today so you don't have to suck it in tomorrow"

Till next time!

Harry Styles

Hello, people! What have you been up to? It's just a month after my last post but I feel so much happier than everrrr. I'm a lot busier now and I'm much more talkative, like finally!! I always whining of not having any friends here but now I have this as so called "best friend" around, they are my dorm mates! The first time we moved in together, I was like a total awkward psycho haha! My friend just told me earlier that at first she thought I was a strange girl because every time she saw me I was folding my cloths and I said to her that at first I thought she was a lazy sleepyhead that the only distance she ever walked was just from the bedroom to bathroom hahaha

Andddd recently I'm obsessed with Harry Styles ! Oh my God isn't he too adorable to be true!! I started to  like him from the moment when I saw One Thing Acoustic video but ever since I watched This Is Us , I'm dying for him! I mean his dimples, his hair, his tattoos, his smile, his voice, and I love the fact that he's friend with Ed Sheeran. Oh Harry...

I love the part when he sings Change My Mind "never felt like this before, are we friends or are we mooore?"
Love Harry in Teenage Dirtbag
Love Harry when he says he hates it when people call him famous
Love Harry and Liam when they just enjoying the day
Love Harry in Japan

Can I have Harry for real, please??

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Hello everyone, have you met..... my sister?

She is not really someone that i look forward to haha but i must say that i'm proud of her. She is just like every big sisters in movies, everyone adores her and compares me to her. She is academically good and friendly ever since we were little kids. But apart of that she never feels like she is ahead of me, as far as i'm concern. See! just like in the movies haha

Three things that i love the most about her are ; she makes me feel safe, she is superbly supportive, and she is generous.

I love to go on a trip with her, or just chilling, or.. i can go everywhere with her! She always put me and my comfort first, you know. When we travel together which mostly on budget travel because she is more into backpacking, i can only sit and she will handle everything for me. I actually don't mind going on a budget trip but there's one thing that quite bothering me, the place we stay. I need pillow, nice bed, and everything. So, she will be the one who sleeps without pillow, on the floor sometimes hahaha thank you sista!

She is the one who encourages me in every thing that i do or intended to do. By every thing i mean EVERY THING, even the bad one haha i always wanted to get a tattoo and she's always like "just do it" or when i say i smoke, she'll be like "it's okay but don't smoke too often" ( is it? or am i dreaming?" hahaha)

Another thing that i love when i go out with her is she will pay everything without complaining. surely it's the time when she has some haha but not only for me, she'll also kindly pay her friends even only in small amounts but still i consider it as generous. I'm not really a stingy person but i'm not that person who's willing to pay for group expenses, if you know what i mean?

Generally, people will describe her as a carefree person, indeed. But sometimes it annoys me with stupid mistakes that she uncountably made. She is OVERLY easy going, go with the flow, and stuffs. That time when we went shopping in Singapore, i asked her to ask the shop's clerk how much the kimono that i wanted to buy, i have no idea what has gotten into her mind, she asked in Mandarin and she stupidly mistaken $49 as $19!! I hate you for that !!!

Right , a couple days ago was my brother's birthday! we don't talk that much now but i remember when we were little, the three of us would talk all night and my mom had to yell and go to our room just to shut us up haha we also share the same interests; online games which leads to a big fight between my sister and my brother because at that time my sister just bought a new laptop and she strictly prohibited us to play more than one hour so they fought hard. I mean they clawed, they kicked, they slapped? hahaha but I can assure you I had a wonderful childhood!

So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU GUYS! Hope you have a blast and years ahead will be fulfilled with joy and laughter, success in everything you do. I LOVE YOU!!

Family isn’t always blood.
It’s people in your life that want you in theirs;
the ones who accept you for who you are;
the ones who would do anything to see you smile;
and the ones who love you no matter what

DWP13

4th Semester has finally ended! Yesterday was the last exams and I did quite well generally. Can't wait for the results! hehehe

Hmm I think I've mentioned this DWP thingy before? Soooo DWP13 was indescribable! haha I had fun but I missed ZEDD because of the terrific jam! I was stuck like two hours only a few KMs from the venue, some people even walked to the venue but I couldn't just leave my friend and walk as well hahaha but I swear it was damn far.

Okay back to DWP, I only watched W&W, Alesso, and Guetta, sadly. I think W&W totally rocked that night! The venue was nice because it is indoor (if you went there, you know how extremely muddy it was outside) and the music was INSANE! they played If I lose Myself, Wake Me Up, This is What It Feels Like. I only know these three songs but I still enjoyed them. Perhaps it's because I was pretty drunk that night haha I tried to keep my self sober the whole night, okay?!  For me W&W's version of This is What It Feels Like is way better than the original one, you should hear it! hehe

Move to the next artist, Alesso. Unfortunately, when I got there he was playing the last song, Spectrum and then the fireworks started. Too bad I can't tell how amazing he was that night haha. After Alesso, I watched Guetta. Guetta was a little boring, I don't know. Maybe because I put too high expectation but still it's Guetta man! He played the same song like last year and some other random songs. sighhh

Alesso - Spectrum

DAVID GUETTA!!

Just One Last Time

This is so true! hahaha

Till next time! ;)

Little Talks.

Okay, so this post was supposed to be a sad and emo post but I found a way to cheer my self up! Just now I self-recorded myself singing in my room haha I know this is stupid, my voice is not even nice, well it's great hahaha I'm joking! Thanks to my roommate for interrupting or else I would be carried away and forgot about this post

How's your days? I can't believe it's December again, time does fly. I always love the Christmas ambience even though I'm not celebrating, you know. I mean don't you love the Christmas songs playing, the trees, the lights? so peaceful and joyful, ahh.

I traveled a lot these past few months. I went to Singapore twice, my hometown thrice?, and RAJA AMPAT! How cool was that! hahaha I literally skipped my class for like a month ;p I'd love to share the pics but the internet connection is kinda slow right now so maybe next time? hehe

Another good thing that will be happening in just four days is DWP! kyaaaa! I'm super excited to know that I'll get to see Guetta again! and this time Zedd will be coming too. Zedd is quite happening right now, I love his music actually and he is also pretty cute! hahaha yesterday I googled Madeon I don't even know why but I was shocked because he is still very young! I think he is the same age as me yet he has accomplished something in his life. I was like wtf Tata, what are you going to do in the future what!! I'm 19 btw, I feel so old already, sigh.

It's been a long time since I last went for a movie. I've missed a lot and I'm dying to watch Frozen! yes, I love Disney.
Talking about movies, I'm watching this korean drama The Heirs currently. It's because Lee Min Ho, no additional reasons hahaha I am quite obsessed with him I mean how could a guy be so perfect!!

hmmm I guess till next time? :)
