Hong Kong Day 2 - Macau ( The Venetian, Galaxy Hotel, Ruins of St Paul's, Senado Square ) and Ladies Market

For starters, i think i should forget my thoughts of being a blogger hahaha writing is very time-consuming, well, it's not like i'm busy or something but it took me around 2 hours only for one entry, can you imagine?!? But hey, i should keep my brain alive, right? I can feel that it is getting rusty hahaha okay let's be productive!

So, on the second day we went to Macau! From Chungking Mansion we walked to China Ferry Terminal (?) I'm not so sure which one because there are two terminals and we got lost on our way there haha but i'm pretty sure that it is one that is located near the Austen Street and Harbour City. We used TurboJet that cost usHKD316 which is around IDR 500,000 something for round trips. We were supposed to depart at 10.30 AM but it got delayed due to the bad weather until around 12 PM and sadly we've bought the ticket for going back at 5 PM. So we only got around 4 hours to explore *sigh*

Around 1 PM, we arrived at Macau Ferry Terminal. Just outside the terminal you can find lots of shuttle buses going to several destinations offered by different hotels. We took the one that is going to The Venetian. Macau is very well-structured, neat, and green! I can't find the proper words to describe the city hahaha. All i can say is i'm loving it!

From The Venetian, we walked through City of Dreams that is just across the road, to catch the bus to Galaxy Hotel. People in Macau are very helpful, I mean they understand English better than Hongkongers certainly since it is one of the most popular tourist destinations around the world so people there are very hospitable. One interesting fact about Macau is that you can find a Casino everywhere you go lol

Galaxy Hotel is very luxurious and huge! It's a five star hotel, duh! They also got shops inside, even a foodcourt. It's super huge i think i can get lost inside the hotel hahaha. My lecturer's friend works there, so we went to meet him but he was pretty occupied so i don't know what we were doing there like my lecturer just disappeared for about 30 minutes. I thought they were going to serve us or something but they didn't hahaha and then from Galaxy Hotel we took the free shuttle bus to Ruins of St Paul's.

At first i thought Ruins of St Paul's is like the must visit place in Macau but turned out it is not as 'jawdropping' as i thought. When you google it you will see beautiful sceneries and bla bla bla but here i show you how it really looks like!

Right?!?!! It was kind of disappointing because i honestly expect it to be more beautiful and green and like, i don't know, it just ruined my imaginations. BUT, like i told you before, you can find free pork jerky going all the way up here! WHATTTT!! Not only one or two but literally all along the way! Shameless me just being shameless, trying every testers that i could find hahaha they also got free cookie testers, drink testers, and stuffs. Now I understand why people always say heaven on earth. I've found mine in Macao *hearts*

And of course i tried the famous portuguese egg tarts and i'd say, meh. It's just like any other egg tarts, i don't know, i didn't find it very special and it's very expensive! I bought two for HKD20!! Why am i so stingy hahahaha but yeah, i'm not a food spender what can i say.

Senado Square

Senado Square was just as disappointing as the ruins. I don't want to complain too much but i'm honest so,... hahaha i just thought that it would have that old city vibes whatsoever but it doesn't. They say never have too much expectations, am i right? Okay, let's move on! It was about 4.30 PM and we were confused on how to get back to the ferry terminal while the ferry was about to depart in 30 mins! My friend said let's just go back to Galaxy Hotel and took the bus from there but Galaxy is actually in the opposite direction! So i said let's just go to Lisboa Hotel that is just around the corner, they should have the bus going to ferry terminal, but my friends like disagreed and still wanted to go to Galaxy Hotel. We were having serious arguments like in the middle of the streets hahaha. But then we decided to go to Lisboa Hotel because we really didn't have much time to go back and forth again and here comes another problem. The bus queue was super long! I'm not sure if it's the one that is going to the ferry terminal but when i asked the concierge he said that we should get like a ticket downstairs. We ended up taking taxi and it only took us around 10 mins for HKD30. Why didn't we do it sooner.

Afterwards we went to the not-so-recommended Ladies Market. They sell random stuffs there but mostly counterfeit stuffs! The quality sucks and they are not even that cheap! You just gotta haggle and haggle till one of you dies hahaha kidding. Don't even try to ask the buyer if you're not going to buy, just DON'T! They will chase you down the street, like literally! But if you want to buy souvenirs like keychains, t-shirts, and stuffs maybe this is the right place for you.

I thought that i would find street foods like meatballs there but i did not. Though i found the famous egg waffles, i think i  got it around HKD20. Again, i have to say meh. And when i walk around, i found another stall that sells egg waffles for only HKD 8 i think? ARGHHH i just wanna curse out loud *Ed Sheeran song was on* ooppss that is thinking out loud hehe so cheesy. Time to get some sleep! Cheerio!
